Studio Kolere is my creative sanctuary, my mancave.

 

It's the spontaneous story of the realization of an idea before it had a substantial content. But the tone was set when I drenched myself in the world of sewing and leatherwork, this was fall '19.

I always wanted to be able to manipulate the clothes and stuff I wear.

 

In a brainstorm around the family table, my brother-in-law came up with 'kolere' as a wordplay on our name, De Ceulaer. 'Studio' was the necessary prefix for this place where ideas can be expressed without boundaries. I never felt comfortable in a box. 

 

So here we are today. 

 

Studio Kolere became this small, slow fashion business where I have the freedom to roam, patiently but eager to see what comes next on the way.

What drives me is  the pleasure of designing and creating, making my own choices and then fully engage to make 'em true.

I love the balance between the withdrawn moments in the studio and the interactive whirlwind with all the players in the game.

Obvious would be to easy.

With Studio Kolere I draw a line in my love for vintage, quality and authenticity. I search for materials in less ordinary places. I spend a lot of time being on the road, curious to found out what's about to come. In the contact with suppliers, producers and makers I want to feel the same love for craftmanship, the pride and the story.

 

Studio Kolere needs to be personal in every sense and that's why finally you’re part of it too.

My handmade goods breath the story of what happens behind the scene. Your attraction to that is, for me as a maker, the most satisfying reward.

I create this frame wherein, with your participation, I'll never get bored making 'cause I'll hardly ever make the same twice.

And you'll feel the pleasure of wearing and carrying something far away from ordinary.
